Hearts

Try to get the least amount of points possible before any other player gets to the maximum points allowed in the game!

Settings - Play To Points: This is the maximum amount of points anyone is allowed to reach.

Once a players score goes above this at the end of a hand the game ends and the player with the least amount of points wins.

Normally a lower value for this setting will mean a fast game, a higher value will normally result in a long game.

Seconds Per Turn: This is the amount of time each player is allowed during their turn. If they do not play a card in time the lowest (safest) possible card is automatically played from their hand.

Gameplay - Hearts is a card game where you try to avoid taking points.

At the beginning of the game each player will be dealt ahand and will get to select 3 cards to pass left. After everyone has passed 3 cards the game begins and the player with the 2 of clubs must play it as the first card.

Play proceeds clockwise and if the next player has a club in their hand they must play it, otherwise they can play any other card.

After all 4 players have played a card the player with the highest card that matched the suit of the leading card wins taking all the cards into their discard pile. Any hearts taken into your discard pile are worth 1 point and the queen of spades is worth 13 points.

Play continues until all players have played all of the cards in their hands. If no player has over the number of points the game is playing to another hand is dealt, 3 cards are passed, and repeated until someone passes the number of points the game is playing to.

At the end of the game whoever has the least amount of points wins. In the event of a tie all players with a matching lowest score win. If any player takes all 26 points in a hand they have shot the moon and all other players receive 26 points for that hand and the player that shot the moon receives 0.
